Rink Seal Pro™ is designed for straightforward installation – no special equipment, no downtime. Just follow these simple steps to stop leaks fast:

  1. Remove the container lid.

  2. Pour the contents of one bag into the bucket. (Mix and apply one bag at a time.)

  3. Fill the container to one inch below the top with water or existing system coolant.

  4. Attach the included mixing tool to a battery or electric drill for best results. (Manual mixing with a paddle or stick is also acceptable.)

  5. Mix thoroughly until the powder is fully blended.

  6. Inject the mixture into the system at a rate of about one gallon per minute. For optimal performance, introduce the solution into the suction line before the pump. (An external pump can also be used.)

Important Notes:

  • Do not install in the expansion tank or the chiller/compressor section of the system.

  • Always bypass filtration systems during installation.

  • Some powder may settle at the bottom; if so, repeat the mixing process.

  • Do not overfill the system.

With the right setup, sealing leaks is a one-person, one-tool job. Watch the video and see just how easy it is.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

1Is Rink Seal Pro™ truly effective?
Shaler stands behind Rink Seal Pro™ with a full performance guarantee: it will seal any active leaks in your system. If your leaks persist after 30 days – and even a free additional treatment doesn’t resolve the issue – you’ll receive a full refund. No fine print. No risk. Just results you can count on.
2How does Rink Seal Pro™ work?
Rink Seal Pro™ uses advanced microparticles that first adhere to the exterior of a leak and then build inward. Upon contact with outside air, the particles harden and expand by approximately 15%, forming a durable, putty-like seal. This process creates a permanent external seal that stops leaks without compromising system flow or pressure.
3How long does it take for the Rink Seal Pro™ to work?
Most leaks sealed with Rink Seal Pro™ show results within one day, with full effectiveness typically achieved within two days. For larger or more severe leaks, an additional dosage may be needed. If you haven’t seen results within one week, our Shaler Technicians are ready to assist and guide you through next steps.
4Why should I care if there is a leak in my rink?
Leaks can have serious consequences – not just for your facility, but for the environment and your bottom line. Beyond the environmental impact and potential liability issues, leaks degrade ice quality, creating unsafe conditions for skaters. They also force your system to work harder, driving up energy costs and reducing overall efficiency. Mechanical repairs are often difficult, disruptive, and expensive. Rink Seal Pro™ offers a smarter, safer, and more cost-effective solution.
5What causes leaks in my rink?
Leaks can result from a variety of underlying issues – including incorrect corrosion inhibitor ratios, high or fluctuating pH levels, air infiltration, internal rust, scale buildup, and mechanical failures. Left unaddressed, these factors can weaken system integrity and lead to costly breakdowns.
1Can Rink Seal Pro™ be installed in existing coolant?
Yes, Rink Seal Pro™ is formulated to be added directly to your system’s existing coolant. It’s fully compatible with all types of coolants, including ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, and salt brine – making integration simple and worry-free.
2Can Rink Seal Pro™ be used in Direct Refrigeration Systems (DFS)?
No, standard Rink Seal Pro™ is not compatible with R-22 or other refrigerants used in Direct Refrigeration Systems. However, we offer a specialized Rink Seal Pro™ formula specifically engineered for use in DFS applications. Contact us to learn more about this version and ensure you're using the right product for your system.
3Will Rink Seal Pro™ plug or damage my refrigeration system?
No, Rink Seal Pro™ will not clog your system – its particles easily pass through a 24-gauge mesh screen, roughly equivalent to a standard household screen door. However, for optimal results and full sealing performance, we recommend bypassing all filtration systems for at least six months after installation. If you have questions or need guidance, our Shaler Technicians are here to help.
4Is Rink Seal Pro™ difficult to install?
On the contrary – it's quite easy. No special equipment is required to install Rink Seal Pro™. Simply mix the product with your desired coolant – either by topping off low coolant or drawing some from the system – and introduce it at a rate of one gallon per minute. Once mixed, Rink Seal Pro™ should be added directly into the ground line or active circulation – not through the overflow or expansion tank. Each container includes clear installation instructions, and a step-by-step video is available on our website. For hands-on support, installation assistance packages are also available – contact a Shaler Technician for details and pricing.
